Trailers and semi-trailers in Farming Simulator 22

There are a lot of trailers and semi-trailers to choose from in Farming Simulator 22 – they have different characteristics and are used for different purposes. In this guide, you will learn what trailers to go for, what features to pay attention to, and where some interesting trailers have been hidden. Also, we will talk about trailers that can be combined.

You can connect trailers using two methods: through a drawbar with a pin or through a ball coupling. But how do these methods differ? Let’s discuss.

Generally speaking, most machinery is equipped with pin coupling. Additionally, a lot of pin coupled trailers have a space at the rear for attaching a different trailer. Here are some of the universal trailers that use pin hooks:

Apart from trailers, there are also semi-trailers in Farming Simulator 22. They can be attached to trucks/truck tractors or other machinery after using a thing called an adapter: the Krampe Dolly 10 L (you can buy it in the store under the Dolly tab).

The trailers you find in the store are mostly multi-purpose: they can be used for various tasks, such as transporting grains, seeds, fertilizers, pig feed and wood chips. When you are choosing trailers, though, pay attention to what kind of produce can be transported in them because some of the models are only used for transporting specific types of goods. You can check this by looking at the icon on the bottom of the screen. It will tell you what kind of produce can be loaded onto the trailer.

Specialized trailers can carry much more produce than compared to universal trailers.

If you’re looking for trailers that can be combined, then go for TKD/HKD 302, HW, and TDK. They have a pin coupling at the rear. This way you can combine an unlimited amount of trailers and have some sort of a “train”.

You can use auger wagons for grains, seeds, and loose fertilizer. All the produce in this wagon can be unloaded using a special pipe, just like with harvesters. Some of the harvesters work rather well with auger wagons: you can unload the grains from the harvester tank straight into a wagon.

Cheaper auger wagon models are great seed and fertilizer hoppers, especially if you do not have a store nearby. It is very easy to unload the grains or other produce onto seeders and planters.

You can use loading wagons in a couple of ways: either to collect grass, hay, and straw from the ground, or just as a normal trailer. It is also easy to load chopped straw and silage. There are similar trailers that can be found in the Trailer category, but they won’t have the loading function.

You can find quite a selection of interesting trailers by going through the Sugarcane technology category. These kinds of trailers are universal – you can transport more goods than just sugarcane, for example, hay, straw, grass, silage, chopped straw and wood chips. By the way, smaller models like Massey Ferguson MF 3021, as well as cheaper models of the trailers, have a pin hook at the rear, meaning you can easily connect them together.
